Horus sighed as he once again walked through the doors of the palace that seemingly had him trapped in this place. The ruined desolate city that sprawled around it, seemed to be cut off as the doors closed behind him.
The candles lit as if by magic as he entered each one lit in order as if practiced a million times.
the hall was empty. The wind from outside could be heard blowing, and the building creaked a little as he walked towards the stairs.
'time to explore a little i think' he thought

Lilith enters the palace shortly after Horus. She notes the man as Arrow's companion but is yet to get to know him. With Arrow missing, probably lost in his own turmoil, now seemed the perfect time. She awaits the usual and frankly annoying appearance from the stubborn little 'princess' Luna whenever one entered the Palace. Honestly, did she have nothing better to be getting on with? Lilith waits, resting her hands on her curvacious hips. She wears a tight black pencil skirt, slender boots and a fitted crimson shirt with black belt around her waist.
Lilith flashes a fanged grin in Horus' direction. "It appears Drax's little madame is not about" She says, seating herself at the check-in desk. "Guess I'll man the fort until her return" With that Lilith produces a pair of narrow spectacles, peering at Horus over the top of them with a flirtatious pout. "Does secretary do it for you, Horus...?"

Kanika considers the great, dark doors, shivering for a second as she thought of what lay within. Remembering that Balthazar was directly behind her, she managed to steady herself. It was great to have someone at her back for once. She didn't have to worry about getting taken by surprise. She had never realized just how paranoid she was about such things until some of that fear vanished.
"I'm ready. Let's see what I can do." She was very proud of her nonchalant tone, having doubted that she'd be able to pull it off. She looked over her shoulder and smiled vaguely at Balthazar (she was slightly less successful with her expression, which still looked tired) before pacing forward and through the towering palace doors.
She noted that there were two others, a beautiful woman with flaming red hair who she would have been jealous of if she only cared more about appearances, and a very tall, very pale man who almost looked ghostly when lit by the gentle candlelight and the silver rays of the moon. Her gaze flickered from one to the other, unsure of who to approach.
She decided on the woman since she seemed to have a certain air of authority. She walked up to her, moving very carefully so that her steps wouldn't falter. Being this tired was a pain.
"Excuse me for interrupting," She said nicely, trying to be polite. "but we need a place to stay for the night. Would you..." She trailed off, unsure how to continue. There was something about this woman that made her feel uneasy and her thoughts had just stalled. She tensed.

He kept step with Kanika as she gingerly walked in. Her steps seemed weak but only because he was looking for it. She certainly was strong headed. As he walked he stepped to the side, lining himself up with the thin looking man sat to the side. He was taking no chances. His gaze slipped over both of the others taking them in. Unsure on who or what they are but definitely sure he would be fighting within a split second if needed. The lady was definitely nice looking, fiery red and a lovely pair of legs showing. But he also saw surety behind every step and strength. He would not take her lightly.

Taking heed of everyone that had entered the room, horus turned so that he could see them all.
Nodding to the red haired woman that he loathed the very presence of almost instinctivly, he spoke in a slow, quiet yet firm tone "whatever hold you may have over arrow woman, you will never have it over me."
His glowing blue eyes shone with every word from behind the stray whisps of white hair that covered his face. He turned to the new comers. "This palace belongs to someone called Lord Draxus. You will have to find him to ask if you can stay, he should be somewhere about the building"
He scenced tension from the bieng that had lined up with him, "i warn you" he paused swiging his rifle of his shoulder and flicking the saftey off "im not looking for a fight, but this thing will drop you before you got anywhere near me. so do me a favour and back the F*ck down." again using the soft warning tone he liked to emphasise his sentances of meaning with.

Kanika backed away from the woman, an instinctive movement that allowed her see both the red-haired woman and the pale, somewhat hostile stranger. She had caught his every word, from his peculiar yet somehow not surprising statement to the strange woman, to his statement about Lord Draxus that caused her to shudder reflexively, to the tense words he spoke to Balthazar. Looking at the gun he held, she considered drawing her own but knew it would be a stupid move that would only make the situation worse.
She decided to try and talk herself out of this one as well. "You can hardly blame a guy for being tense in this city," She began slowly, choosing her words carefully, "Don't you think your reaction is a bit extreme?"

Horus grinned at the woman stood before him "ive had an extreme few days, my reaction is one of experience my dear. Shoot first. Forget the questions."
He sighed and lowered the rifle. "But maybe in this situation, i should need to reconsider my approach. Horus Garviel" he introduced himself while not taking his eyes off the bieng staring at him from the shadows. "and who might you be, and why is you're pet staring at me with intent?"

As soon as this Horus man had threatened him, Balthazar had been eying up the distance between him and the stranger. He could easily close the distance and pull out his swords before the weird metal object could be lifted....if Horus made the first move however it would end differently. Luckily Kanika had cut that thought short, she had sort of calmed the situation. After what he had said all Balth could do is stop himself from laughing aloud. He had been to tarterous and back, he had killed a god himself without much hassle, but then again, this guy had one of those 'guns'. His chest still ached from that first blow. He also didn't have his vast spells with him which was still a confusion. So instead he would also do the bravado scene, let this guy see a taste of power. "I am no pet Mr Garviel, but I am only staring as that strange piece of metal in your hands is nothing I have seen before," Balthazar reached out with one hand and summoned a small ball of rolling flame into his hand. "You may be able to life that thing in time just to have this land in your face. But then again, why would I want to kil...sorry Fight you yet? I have done nothing to you other than eye up a potential enemy, I am just here wanting a room and knowledge." He dismissed the ball of flame with a thought and lowered his hand back to his waist, the readied position just in front of his swords. "I am Balthazar, I ask questions before removing limbs and after removing limbs." He dipped his head in a slight respectful nod, never taking his eyes off of Horus. Respectful is one thing, foolish is a total different thing. He no longer stared but looked past him and around Horus. Not wanting to provoke more threats but neither wanting to have this one out of sight.

((Whoa! Lets wait our turn Horus -- Kanika -- Balth -- Lilith... Or this will get confusing)) Lilith recoils mockingly at the harsh words of Horus, an audible little whimper escapes her pouting red lips as if hurt. She had paid no heed to the entrance of the newcomers until the woman approaches her. Lilith stands, her slender hands spread out on the desk between them so that she is not erect to her full 6ft stance but level enough to look this girl in the eye. About to reply to the womans request she is suddenly cut short by the tempers of both this new male creature and Horus, apparently both were highly strung indeed... Lilith stands upright now, stepping out from behind the desk and momentarily ignoring the girl who had rather quickly began to back off. "Boys, boys" She says, furrowing her brow "Why such hostility? We are all friends here" Her tone patronising but authoritive, she steps between them. "Horus my sweet, it's exceptionally rude to handle weapons in front of our guests, it makes it seem we want to hurt them" Her eyes trace the being known as Balthazar up and down, again peering over the rim of her glasses. "...And that is precisely the sort of reputation we don't need." Lilith pauses briefly, her gaze lingering on this Balthazar... Demonic Elf perhaps? She grins, walking back to the girl. "Now then, a room?"

Kanika groaned at the pale man's, Horus', taunting phrase. Pet? Her nervous gaze flickered back to Balthazar as she simultaneously felt tempted to laugh. He wasn't the one who had nearly become someone's pet today.
She grimaced at the thought, disturbed, and continued to keep a close eye on everyone as they spoke. Since neither Horus or Balthazar immediately tried to tear apart the other, she looked to the only nameless person in the room as she approached. "Yeah," She answered, so relieved that someone wasn't about to rip someone else's head off that she forgot her earlier unease and smiled. "We really need a place to stay. It's been a long day." She looked down at her own blood-spattered clothing, as if for dramatic effect.
Horus would have to forgive her for failing to give him her name just now. She didn't do such things lightly and the chaos of the moment had not allowed for pause. There was always later.

Balthazar moved forward, keeping a peripheral eye on this Horus. He kept himself between Horus and Kanika at all times. As long as he was focused on Balthazar then they wouldn't notice how weak she was right now. He move to wards this other, highly attractive woman. "My apologies, I am Balthazar as I said. I'm not normally so rude." He dipped into a low bow as before keeping his eye on her the whole time. "A room would be great actually. Please forgive my appearance, it has been a long few hours."

Lilith nods understandingly as the girl and this Balthazar request their rooms. One would think her sympathetic if it weren't for the delighted twinkle of her emerald eyes...
She heads back to the desk and picks up the leather bound guest book. 'Urgh, seriously, a quill?' She says with distaste as she hunts for a pen. Having found nothing after a few seconds she begrudgingly takes the quill into her hand and begins flicking through the pages of the book. After some time of hmm-ing and ahaa-ing she at last throws the book back down with heavy thud. "Well, it appears we have every room available" Lilith beams at them. "Will that be a double bed" She asks cheekily, winking at Balthazar and eying up the girl.

Horus noticed how this Balthazar seemed overly protective of the woman. a tactical error, never give away you're weekness to a potential enemy. But one horus overlooked with a sigh and a shrug.
He couldnt help but smile at the thought of hurting the red haired woman's feelings. he nodded at balthazar, "i prefer eating the limbs, and ussually they arn't around to answer any questions after that" he said in a tone of jest.
seeing lilith suggest something might be going on between these two, he placed a hand on a staunch jaw before commenting "Oh please, is that all you think about?"

Surprised by the woman's suggestive....well, suggestion, Kanika's eyes widen. She felt her blood rush to her face in a blush and was thankful for the darker skin tone that made her reaction a bit less obvious. "What? No!" She said quickly, running the words together in her haste.
Calm down, you're over-reacting.This from the darker, more practical faction of her mind. The voice of reason. Everyone else seems to have taken the comment lightly. She sighed, told herself that she was acting very young, and re-focused her gaze on the woman. Replaying the question in her head, she suddenly had an idea.
Tilting her head slightly as she thought it through, she said aloud "Do you have a room with two beds?" She knew that this question would probably sound like a false pretense to anyone whose mind followed the same course as that of this woman, but she didn't want to be separated from Balthazar while she was in this place. As tired as she was now, she knew she would be dead to the world for hours after she fell asleep. Defenseless in the palace of one of hell's most powerful demons. It was a nightmare, and she knew herself well enough to know for a fact she would soon have herself convinced she would never wake up if she were isolated in her own room. She was just too paranoid for this!
But if Balthazar was in sight she should manage to avoid panicking (and probably fleeing the castle, as stupid as that would be) and allow herself to fall asleep here. Not that she could stay up all that much longer if she wanted to. She was going to pass out soon, whether or not she felt she was in danger.
So her solution had been a reasonable one. She locked her jaw, lifted her head, and tried to ignore the stares that she was convinced were boring into her. She was probably just being paranoid.

"Oh really? That is quite weird. Didn't know that was a usual human pass time, oh well. I'm sure you enjoy the taste." For the first time since he had walked in Balthazar sniffed the air casually, there was something about this guy. Something beyond human.
Thats when the smell hit him, vague at first then it was stronger. Lycanthropy. He had known a few in his past. Disgusting disease ridden beasts normally. This one had some class to him, not a true born then. That atleast was a small measure of relief. He had known a normal sort of life before the disease took hold. He also didn't seem to have the twitchy look about him most of the older ones had. Either this one was recently turned or it had a strong mastery over that side of its life.
Either way, better keep an eye or a nose on that one. Its not something Balthazar needed....another beast inside. He had once known a Werewolf of high standards rip a mans face off only to infect him so he survived and had to live on in a half corpsed state. He didn't dare imagine what would happen if he was to be bitten, would he become a werewolf? Would his demon side kill the disease? Would the demon infuse with it to create some sort of increased beast? When his anger took over he was feral enough. Add wolf blood into that and it even scared him.
He almost forgot all about that comment on the double bed. "Well, do you fancy joining me? Nah my friend here wants a quiet night. Best leave it till a little later. Show you a real good time when I'm cleaned up." He stepped forward, took her hand and kissed it gently caressing it with his thumb all the while.
