Khai waited for an answer but a scene across the room had stopped her dead in her tracks. The man of silver hair and a hard frown, the very same she had seen in London the night before she had come to this place... Surely not? Surely it wasn't possible for him to have followed her here??
"I have to go" She says, clambering from her high bar stool, eyes locked on the old man even as she reaches for her bag and buckles the front of it. Without hesitation and without allowing a chance for either Peregrin or Jaeger to respond Khai was gone, slipping through the dense crowd toward the door and out onto the cold, blustery streets of Midian...

Peregrin was lost in thought. Trying to remember the exact location of where she found this trinket. She had been to so many places over the past few years... Then it clicked. She could hear Jae and Khai talking but what they were saying didn't register whilst she was in her own mind.
Then mention of weapons brought her attention back to the conversation.
'Aye, I can keep myself safe' She added with an unintentional obvious tone. 'I can take you to this place Khai, but its a 4 day trek away, we'll need supplies...' she stopped talking as she noted Khai wasn't listening but watching a man. She glanced at the man just to get a look without attracting attention trying to sum up his intention. His eyes fixed on Khai. Peregrin saw Khai get up to leave. She put her back around her neck and clipped her cloak over her shoulders. Then reached for her staff. Such a weighty piece of oak picked up with ease as if it was nothing but a twig.
'I'll keep you company for now if you need a hand' she whispered to Khai as she got up. For some reason, Peregrin felt like this girl needed protecting from someone... or something. She was so delicately small and naive. Peregrin would try her best anyway. She was so used to looking after just herself.
