((OUT OF CHARACTER NOTICE: RP Contained in this thread IS NOT taking place within midian. Its taking place inside horus's "dream", see thread "burrial duty"))
-------
Horus led behind airlia, holding her as she slept. He had just awoken. This bed in his room seemed as far away to him now as the concept that a place like midian had existed to him before the attack by the wolf.
The red sheet covered them both up to the shoulder, quickly discarded clothing was dotted on the floor and various pieces lay on shelves where they had landed after been torn off and chucked.
Laying there, he thought back over what had happened to him in the last 24 hours, from the wolf attack to meeting lunavyre, arrow and jae in the palace.
Sighing as the reality of the fact that he was not dreaming sunk in, he moved closer to airlia, wrapping his arms all the way around her and fell back to sleep.

Airlia was dreaming; she dreamt of the wall. Always started with the wall. Her small, now childish figure walked up the low, grey stoned construction and dreading every step.
Every step closer filled her with a terrible fear, a quiet keening rising in her throat. PLEASE! She screamed in her mind, unable to form sound with her mouth.
Airlia shifted, flickering from form to form in a desperate attempt to escape. She had never found out what was beyond, but it was so terrible, so dire, that her whole body choked with the possibility of knowledge.
There was a hand on her, pulling her away. She whimpered with the surprise and relief, before half-waking, realising it was Horus, and twisting herself so she was more comfortable in his arms.
What would the flesh taste like? It tempted her somewhat, Humans were her usual fare, though Horus was werewolf, it might taste different... no. He would be gone then, and there would be no more fun.
She shifted, so that she was facing him and did not disturb his sleep. Her hair, as ever, was in perfect condition, and behaving for once. He looked at peace in sleep, no longer the wolf in a cage. Airlia brought a hand up and touched his lips with her fingers.
"Horus." She whispered, enjoying the sound of his name.

The moon lit up the moor, people running in all directions. Horus chased them. The Obsidian wolf Raging in hatred as he mercilessly cut down and mauled men women and children alike. The Stench of their blood filling his nostrils and driving him further into the bloodlust.
a woman got into his sights. She was tall, Brown haired and skinny. No match for his speed. He chased her down. She screamed as his claws hit her back, tearing it open. And let out a screach that was cut short by a satisfyingly gruesome squelch as he crushed her skull between his jaws.
after the kill he lifted his head skywards and let out an unearthly howl. Above him he saw her. His purple haired master that told him who to kill, where to fight...
For the second between dreaming and waking it all made perfect scence to him. he understood everything that had happened bwtween him and airlia with a complete clarity, and then it was gone as he awoke as if that was a rope that only his subconcious mind could grasp.
Horus stirred as Airlia touched his lips and whispered. He opened his eyes to see three things all at once. Beauty, Slowly dissapating fear and something sinister that he couldnt make out. He blinked a few times before kissing the finger that was on his lips. "Airlia" he whispered back. Smiling
"good morning," he added after a few seconds of staring into those deep purple eyes, trying to get some kind of grasp of what he was so damn sure he understood a few seconds ago. "did you sleep well? i heard you murmering?" he asked while moving himself closer to her face and playing with her hair in his hands.

"Oh nothing." She whispered sweetly, not wanting to reveal such weaknesses and nightmares just yet. Let him think she was perfect for a little while longer.
Though there was something behind his blue eyes, something profound, strong, and intoxicating. Airlia realised she had a mastery of him, but did Horus understand how she was in turn controlled by him?
Yet for now she could play this game of mastery a little while longer.
"I was dreaming of the wall." She said at length. Waking, Airlia knew of the wall and what it signified. The land beyond death, where she had risen from, sublimed into this world through the will of the lustful and greedy. She had eaten her former master, stolen his skills with magic.
"Beyond there are souls, not bodies. Where I was risen up from." She said in a singsong manner, "A Sorcerer made me for his pleasure."
She laughed, girlish and pretty. "I ate him. I ate him all up and took his magic and his house." The demon considered Horus and his arms about him, and the notion of what he tasted like and came to a decision. "I won't eat you sweetling." She assured him. "You are too pretty. My creator was terribly ugly."
She sighed, before asking on a tangent, "What do you want to do here now? We can stay for some time, but when I want to return to Midian you are coming with me."

Listening to Airlias words, they seemed strange yet somehow made scence as if it where all instantly true. "Sounds like the Horny old bastard got what he deserved then" Horus snorted, smiling at airlias re-assurance.
"When we return, will i be able to bring stuff with me?" he said looking beyond airlia to his sword and ammunition. He then looked her in the eyes again, noting that there was still fear there. This wall had shaken her. "I suppose we could go back, id love to see your place"

Airlia blinked at the weaponry - she only had knowledge of psi. Not of the electronic or anything in the digital mode.
She wiggled herself away from Horus' arms by turning into a snake then a mouse then a bird before back to an angel then human, before examining exactly what Horus wanted to take back. Weapons. Power. Most excellent.
"Of course." She confirmed, "Though it must be about your person so I can take it back. Oh yes, where I live is beautiful. What are you going to take?"

Horus got up, his skin shivvered in the cold air of the room. He got dressed quickly, found the newest armour that he had and donned it. Grabbed a rucksack and filled it with all the bolter magazines he could cram in there and put it on his back, the belt was next. Knives, grenades. Medical supplies all shuved into neat little pockets, the belt also had the scabbard for his sword, which crackled with lightening as he picked it up and sheathed it.
The armour was heavier than most, it had a wristplate that desplayed a map of the area, and other controls that did dfferent things. "need something else" he said to himself before rigging up a button on his wrist controls. He tested it. The red button glowed for a few seconds before the armour undid itself and fell to the floor along with everything else about horus's person. he put it all back on quickly "incase i need to change. i can do it without breaking anything" he said to airlia as he picked a side arm from the draw nearest to him. in this case a Desert eagle .50 pistol.
"ok im ready" he nodded

Airlia smiled indulgently at the werewolf. "You need so much!" She exclaimed, laughing slightly, good naturedly.
The demon held his hand, there was no need for dramatic gestures this time. She merely waved her free hand through the air in a graceful arc of motion, and stepped forward, taking Horus with her.
They stepped through into Midian. Airlia's home. It was so easy to find home.
It was a crumbling ballroom. The marble floor was tarnished and dull, the white columns and fluted pillars falling apart. A great swathe of the roof had fallen in, revealing the beautiful starry sky.
Airlia stepped lightly, smiling at her abode. Though there was something wrong and she changed into a leopard immediately, large purple eyes scanning the darkened corners.
From one such corner emerged a creature. An angel, by the smell. Airlia snarled in her leopard form. Enemy.
The thing spoke to them both. "Little demon. I see you there, rending this reality. Your intent and being is wrong. Judgement awaits; I will take you to the wall."
Airlia whined in fear, and changed to a white and purple parody of the angel's form, summoning her psi, which were shining and golden. Luna and Sol. She may have been afraid, but she could master her emotion.
The angel moved with frightening pace, her dark and silver staff connecting with her psi - barely. She felt a wave of magic from the being, and Airlia yelped as it took hold of her and threw her back against a crumbling wall. She could not move, too weak to change, Airlia tried in vain to crawl to some safety... this was it, she would be defeated and taken to where she feared the most...

Reacting instantly to the apearing creatures attack on airlia, Horus brought up his rifle. Moving to his left he fired in bursts of three rounds. the loud Crack of the gunfire seconded buy the impact explosions of the shells and the clanking of the casings on the stone floor. Growing impatient with himself horus's eyes shone brightly as he dropped his rifle to the floor and drew the sword that cast Lightening arcs around the room as it was drawn.
Airlia was on the floor, still in leopard form with the Thing, seemingly unaffected by the boltershells standing over her. Horus Screamed as he brought the sword up into a high pre-strike position and charged.
The angel turned as horus swung the sword in for the attack, all the rage that was building in his body channeled pefectly through the sword. The staff that the angel defended itself with sparked as it met the blade, the blades lightening crackling as he swung and parried, horus Screamed in rage again but it turned into a gutteral roar. His eyes shone almost as bright as the blade of his sword did as the anger became too much "The wall will not have her!" "it will, and it will have you too minion" The angel replied as it swung a foolish attack that horus deflected and turned into an attack, he jumped into the air. hit the armour release catch and found the wolf.
An obsidian wolf fell from the air and let out an ear-splitting roar as it lunged towards its enemy...

To cleanse the earth of foul and wrong; the Demon here was a prime example of why she existed. Her purpose was to usher death, to administer blessings and life. Though now a filthy Demon and it's ungodly guardian were to be dealt a swift and just demise.
One thing that Aryanni was not counting on was the man changing to a wolf. The surprise caught her off guard and it's fangs bit deep into her shoulder, her being disrupted by the force.
The Angel cried out in shock and anger. Disgusting creature! She shook it off and floated backwards. To get to the Demon she needed to pass through the wolf. It was too much trouble... for now. The laws of Midian were quite clear.
"Fine." Stated Aryanni. "Filthy scut but you defend your Mistress well. We shall meet again Demon and you will not be so lucky." With a deafening crack Aryanni shifted and left them to it, to where she could rest and rejuvenate her wound.

Inhale. Exhale. Breath in. Breath out. Slowly. Move. Feel. Touch. See.
Things came back slowly as Airlia regained strength and ability to function.
She sat and watched her wolf lay asunder an Angel's glory. A shining light had erupted from where Horus had bitten down. His skill at physical fighting exceeded her own and she was grateful. Truly.
The... thing... left them, with some condescending remark that let her blood boil. She shifted then, anger giving her strength, to human form with a tail that swished violently and long pointed ears.
Seeing Horus filled still with battle lust, Airlia's anger gave way to trepidation. She had seen these creatures give in to the animal completely, and Horus would not have had tasted blood to sate him. She knew her own violet blood would run thick and hot under his teeth.
She shifted to her usual human form and stood, as calmly as she could. "Horus. I have to thank you." She nodded at him respectfully, trying to remind herself that he indeed was still hers. But he had saved her live. She owed him.

Growling at the form that slowly dissapeared, Horus's world was a blur of instinct a haze of blue. he turned to see a familiar face staring at him respectfully yet expectantly.
Padding over, still angry, but the bloodlust dissapearing. he sat down next to airlia, and changed back into human form, Cold, naked. "what happened?" he said breathing heavily as he sat on the floor trying to regain his breath..

He would protect me, willingly? Airlia considered uneasily. Horus was nothing more than a possession to her - pretty and useful as he was there was no connection that went both ways.
"Something tried to kill me." She pouted, unhappy she had nearly died. Out of defiance and sulkiness Airlia turned into her mostly unused male form. Her hair was still long and she was just as beautiful but distinctly masculine.
She toyed with piece of stone in her hands, feeling glum and a little bit scared. Not only at that strange angel thing but at how she had relied on Horus. She couldn't start trusting him, surely not?
"I don't know what it was - some kind of Angel I believe. Do you think it will return?"

watching airlia turn into a bloke disquietened Horus. Somehow seing the woman that he had just slept with turn into a man played with his mind a little. But he ignored it.
"heh, only if it wants its fucking ass kicked again" He snorted, placing a hand on her shoulder. "its gone for now."
He got up, moved over to his armour and clothes and got dressed again. Then after regaining his weapons he walked back over to airlia.
He offered a hand to help her up "Dont worry" he said, with a far away look in his eyes "the wall wont get you while im around".

Airlia stood, ignoring his offer of help, and her form rippled through a myriad of human faces, becoming colder and more regal with each shift. The wall. How dare the fleeting life of Horus dare suggest that he could protect her? A creature for which time was immaterial?
Though Airlia rapidly settled in her most usual human form, realising that indeed Horus had protected her, and would continue to do so. Her flare of anger subsided, and she tilted her head to one side, considering him neutrally.
"I know." She said softly. "And I am grateful... truly." She spied the sword that was hanging from his belt. A way to repay him? Not to mention safeguard herself... Airlia's fingers twitched with the thought of intention.
"Your sword." She began, staring at it, moving close to Horus to touch the pommel with thin, questing fingers, feeling the purpose of the thing, the potential for part of her soul. Yes, yes this would do...
"I wish you to protect me further." She whispered, close to him in the silence of her crumbling, ruinous domain. Starlight bathed them, casting Airlia's white and purple hues to monochrome. "I can change this - give you part of me for safekeeping..."
Magic, white and shocking, discharged from Airlia's hand, straight through to Horus's sword, transferring part of herself into that blade. A fragment of her soul settled into it's pathways of being, imbuing it with a Demon's strength and element. Not only that, but Horus' rudimentary changling skills would be enhanced by it.
She stepped back, breathing slightly heavier and so sat on a large piece of marble, looking at Horus with an expectant smile. "Draw your sword." She urged, "Give it a try."
